Montessori Grace & Courtesy Printable Extensions 2

Grace & Courtesy is part of the Montessori Practical Life curriculum, and it includes things like self-care skills, social skills, identifying and talking about emotions, and how to express yourself in a group or with peers — things that people out in the regular world might call “manners.” These lessons are usually taught through small group lessons or with role playing, and I first created my Montessori Grace & Courtesy Mini Bundle a couple of years ago that can be used in the Montessori classroom or homeschool environment. My Printable Pals asked for more, so here’s everything that’s included in my Montessori Grace & Courtesy Mini Bundle 2:

Mirror Emotions Cards: There are cards featuring 16 different emotions, including confused, bored, excited, embarrassed, happy, frustrated, overwhelmed, mad, sad, proud, shy, scared, surprised, silly, worried, and tired. Put these beside a mirror so the child can look at her own face in the mirror while mimicking the faces on the cards.

My Book of Emotions: The child can draw their own face in the mirror for each of those same 16 emotions. There is a also a blank page to add any emotions that aren’t included in the bundle.

Grace & Courtesy Sequencing Mats and Cards: There are sequencing mats for 5 different Grace & Courtesy lessons. Each lesson also comes with numbered cards as well as cards with captions, so you can use whichever format you prefer. The lessons included are:

Using a Work Rug
Walking Around a Work Rug
Blowing Your Nose
Observation Hands
Washing Your Hands

How Would You Feel? Conversation Starters: There are 16 written scenarios. Read each and discuss how you would feel if you were in that situation. There are no right answers here — individuals may feel differently about the same scenarios, and that’s okay!
