I love finding a new game that can be played with a wide range of ages, so I was so excited when Blocks Rock! asked if they could send me their Deluxe Game set to try out — and I immediately asked for another one that we could giveaway to one of you! Blocks Rock! is a STEM structured block play game that can be played individually, collaboratively, or competitively with children from preschoolers and up. It works on shape recognition, spatial awareness, balancing skills, and so much more in a simple block game that even your preschooler can enjoy. Here’s everything that’s included:
The Preschool STEM Cards are now included in the Blocks Rock! Deluxe Game, and this is perfect for beginners! The cards feature simple designs that can be used with the blocks to match the cards. The shapes on the cards are the exact same size as the physical blocks, which allows for one-to-one matching. This is perfect for children ages 3+ and a great introduction to the competitive game.
There are also 2 decks of cards for use with a partner, one with beginner designs and one with intermediate designs. You can play the game with just one block set, as each person races to build the pictured design first and then taps the bell once they’ve finished. The numbers on each card assign points to whoever correctly builds the structure first. The child can also do these individually or work together with a friend to build them. There are 42 different structures included in the decks.
For advanced players, there is a free 3D companion app that includes 52 structures. You need a second block set if you want to do this level competitively, but you can build each structure individually with just one block set. My 4th grader loves this advanced version!
The Blocks Rock! game has been a hit at our house, and I only wish we’d received it sooner so we could have benefited from playing it when my girls were younger!
