Montessori-Inspired Winter Language Printables

I created an entire Montessori-Inspired Fall Language Bundle earlier this year for my Printable Pals with a whole bunch of activities aligned with Montessori and the Science of Reading — and I decided I should make a new one for every season! Here’s everything that is included in my NEW Montessori-Inspired Winter Language Bundle:

Winter Rhyming Words Cards: There are 10 pairs of rhyming words that relate to the season of winter. Pre-readers can use the pictures to match the rhyming words, and fluent readers can use the words. To make it extra fun, use these cards to play Memory!

Winter Syllable Counting & Sorting Cards: There are 10 one syllable words, 10 two syllable words, and 5 three syllable words relating to winter that the child can sort according to number of syllables. Those same words are also shown on cards along with clapping hands for clapping the syllables.

Winter Compound Words Cards: There are 8 compound words relating to winter, with the parts separate to be combined to make the whole word. The control of error is that the words should match when the cards are put together.

Winter Beginning Sounds Clip Cards: There are 19 clip cards featuring pictures of winter items to find the correct beginning sound. You can mark the letter with a clothespin or a clear gem.

Winter Sentence Strips: There are 8 pink series sentences (CVC words), 8 blue series sentences (CCVC & CVCC words), and 8 green series sentences (all of the more complicated long vowel words!). For pre-readers, the adult can read the sentences and the child can match it to the picture. For beginning readers, the child can read the sentence of the appropriate difficulty level.

Chickadee Prepositional Phrases Play Mats & Command Cards: Cards featuring 8 different prepositional phrases to direct where to place the chickadee on the mat. For pre-readers, read the command card to the child. For a higher difficulty level with fluent readers, cut the command card phrase off of the picture. and match the phrases to the picture. I’ve included a full color version as well as a low color version in case you want to save on printer ink.
