Phoneme Isolation Bingo — Montessori I Spy Sound Game

MyPrintable Pals recently asked for some printable materials that align with Montessori and the Science of Reading, and I’ve been having a blast creating them! You may have heard of the Montessori I Spy Sound Game, traditionally done with objects and a small group of children. I decided to make a printable version of that in the form of a Bingo game!

This phonemic awareness activity helps the child to practice isolating beginning, ending, and middle sounds. Each bingo board comes with prompt cards that the teacher will read, then the child covers up the corresponding space. For example, when working with the beginning sounds bingo cards, the teacher will read a prompt like “I spy something that starts with /a/.” The child will cover up the apple on her card.

This printable Phoneme Isolation Bingo set comes with 6 boards for beginning sounds, 6 boards for ending sounds, and 6 boards for middle sounds. The sounds included:
