I’m pretty sure I say this every month, but this month’s Kids Night In box was our favorite one yet!!!  The theme of this box was “Spooktacular Night,” and it was basically our own private Halloween party in a box.  We ALL had a blast!

We began as usual by preparing our meal together using the optional Spooktacular recipe.  The girls loved making a cheese ball shaped like a pumpkin!

After dinner, the girls put on their Halloween costumes and we began by reading the spooky book included in our Kids Night In Box, Ten Timid Ghosts.  It’s become one of their favorite bedtime stories and we’ve read it almost every night since then!

Next we built our own haunted house using the kit provided in the Kids Night In Box. The girls loved deciding where everything would go and painting with glue to make sure it all stuck.

We made some tissue ghosts and hung them up all over the house — Nora was very interested in finding places to hang them where they would scare visitors.

But the highlight of the evening was trying to get through a spider web obstacle course!  The girls thought this was so much fun that they went through over and over again.  I even found Lila making another one with some of the leftover streamers days later!

Next we got to try out some new art media when we drew our own haunted masterpiece with markers and pastels.  The Kids Night In guidebook showed step by step pictures of how to draw the scene, and I was surprised by how well Lila recreated it!  Our house is certainly well decorated for Halloween now!

We took a quick snack break for some Spooky Monster Hand Popcorn…

…before ending the night with a dance party with a ghost!  We made ghosts from tissue paper and then made them dance using static electricity while listening to the included Spotify playlist.

We have been having so much fun with our Kids Night In boxes lately that we want to share the love!  Next month’s theme is “Give Thanks,” and we are giving away a box to one lucky winner!
