I was browsing through a kitchen organizing store a while ago when a kitchen cabinet shelf organizer caught my eye — but not for use in my kitchen. Of course not, that would be silly! No, it caught my eye because I knew it would be perfect for a weaving work for L!
I tied a few ribbons [of varying color, material, and width] to one end of the shelf and quickly turned it into a ribbon weaving board — we’re talking about 30 seconds of prep work here. I put it on the floor table as a stationary work since it’s quite large, and L found it right after breakfast. I showed her how to put the ribbon “over” and then “under” — over and over again — and she caught on very quickly.
L loves this work so much that she does it many times each day — pretty good for an activity that took less than a minute for me to put together!
This looks like something I would enjoy. (Hopefully the kids, too.) I just looked through my kitchen and I don’t have anything like it. I have to see if I can think of a few more uses for it before I can justify buying it, though. Thank you for sharing!
Will try this with my son, but in reverse since he’s only fourteen months old. Thanks for the idea!
That’s a great idea!
