I never thought I would reach 1,000 Instagram followers so quickly when I started my account just four and a half months ago, but I am so thankful for the amazing community I have found there!  To celebrate, I am holding a giveaway of this GORGEOUS geoboard that my talented husband made [if you are reading this post in your email, click over my site to see the picture.  For some reason the featured image of each blog post does not get sent in email versions!].

Geoboards require a certain amount of fine motor control to use, so this work is recommended for children ages 2 and up.  The aim of the work is to stretch the rubber bands around the nails to form different shapes.  This builds fine motor control and concentration skills.  Discovering how to make shapes and learning their names builds sensorial awareness and language skills, and noticing the units involved in each shape serves as an introduction to math.  It’s also super therapeutic for adults to use when children are napping.  🙂
