Video — Maria Montessori’s Pink Tower

My husband made this GORGEOUS natural wood “pink” tower.  [We can still call it the Pink Tower because the stand is pink.  :P]  The pink tower is one of Maria Montessori’s original works.  I’ll be writing a post about it soon.  For now, watch L at 2 years old complete the Pink Tower — the original video was 7 minutes long from start to finish.  I sped it up so we could see the whole process much faster.

  1. Nice! The one in my classroom is made of natural wood, too. We just call it the Tower of Cubes. This is my first time seeing it completed by a two-year old. The youngest in my class is three.

  2. I bought my daughter some mega legos when she was 1 1/2. She loves those things. Around 2, I noticed she would sort them out by size and build them on the base by large to small. I think she would love those blocks!

  3. Thanks for sharing! I wandered over here after reading your red rods post. Love the hands up at the end! It was great to see a time lapse and watch Lila interact/look at you. I often wonder in your blog/IG posts how much is done independently and how much is guided.
